ASTRAL debut's this Wednesday May 12th 2010 with an exciting card lined with great fighters. The event will look for fighters to start establishing the ranks of Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight and Light Heavyweight within ASTRAL.
In the headliner, Rumina Sato (4-6) faces Aoki Matsumoto (2-0) in a Welterweight battle. Sato is veteran of the King of Fighting org and fights out of the Beatdown Central gym. His opponent will be the undefeated Chinese fighter Matsumoto who has two QFC wins under his belt.
Chiba Masaki (2-0) and Shin Ya (4-0) will tangle in a second Welterweight bout. Masaki looked impressive in both his QFC fights disposing of his opponents early in the 1st with vicious head kick KO's. Shin Ya is a brown belt BJJ partitioner who's won all 4 of his QFC fights by submission.
Middleweight's Mirko Vucinic (2-3) and Matsushita Yashunori (0-1) will do battle. Vicinic hails from Montenegro and has previously appeared in the World Combat Alliance. Yashunori is young fighter and lost his debut in the QFC via decision.
Tetsuhiro Uwano (1-0) meets Hideaki Katsu (0-1) in another Middleweight fight. Uwano is coming off a QFC debut victory after landing a late armbar on Bugoy Torero late in the 3rd round. His opponent will be Hideaki Katsu who fights out of the Korea Elite MMA gym.
Korean Featherweight Jongwoo Park (0-0) makes his pro debut as he'll face Takaku Fuke (1-2). Park has a brown belt in BJJ and fights out of the Xtreme Tokyo 7 Elites gym. Fuke dropped his first two QFC fights but recently picked up a decision win.
Lightweights Hidetaka Sato (2-3) lost his last 3 fights in the King of Fighting org and will be looking for a fresh start in ASTRAL. HIs opponent will be the Brazilian Rafael Diias (3-2). Diias went 2-2 in the IPPON org and has since picked up a 1st round submission win over Prince Neria in QFC.
In a Lightweight battle added late to the card, Ryuu Matsumoto (7-0) faces off against Raig Si Zhiro (4-6). Matsumoto is the current Tokyo Cage Combat Lightweight Champion and has also appeared in PRIDE and Pit Fighting League. He trains with Elite Jiu Jitsu Combat Systems. Fiji's Raig Si Zhiro is an experienced fighter who fought in the World Combat Alliance and LEGENDS FC and fights out of New Japan MMA.
Korea Elite MMA Featherweight Hyun Tsubaki (0-0) will make his debut against former LEGEND FC Eduardo Yamamoto (1-3) from Brazil.
Danish Light Heavyweight Asbjorn Jensen (2-1) is coming off back to back QFC wins and he'll meet Ryu Hoshi (0-0) who will be making his pro debut.
The opening fight will see Light Heavyweight Tatsuya Kimura (1-0) standup specialist will take on Croatian Premiere MMA alliance fighter Krunoslav Slabinac (1-0).
